The film was released worldwide on 18th July '14 with a big expectation from the teenagers. Dhanush himself produced this movie under his Wunderbar Films whereas madan distributed it through Escape Artists motion pictures.

PLOT :-
The film starts with Raghuvaran ( Dhanush ), an unemployed B.E. graduate running his life doing household works with an intimate relationship with a cycle like moped and a dog named harry potter. Raghu's father ( Samuthirakani ) oftenly compares him with his younger brother karthick for not being responsible to the family. Well, Raghu's mother ( Saranya ) will be supporting him for his wish of getting job satisfaction. On knowing a well employed beautiful girl is there as a neighbour, raghuvaran tries to see her and one night Shalini ( Amala paul ), the neighbour girl dashes her car with the moped at the time when raghuvaran was drunked. After a few meetings, they both fall in love with each other. Land grabbing & acquiring big construction deals with the wealth in an illegal way is the main business for Arun subramaniam ( Amitesh ) and his father, who owns a building company. And there, Arun will be meeting raghuvaran for the first time when raghu comes for an interview to get a job in his company. Suddenly, Raghuvaran's mother will die because of a stroke and raghu from that dark day feels himself that his irresponsibility only killed his mother. By the time, Raghuvaran gets a job as a gesture from the father of Anitha ( Surabhi ), the girl who got her life back with the lungs replacement from the body of raghu's mother. After a few months, Raguvaran will be offered a government building tender project and on seeing it, Arun troubles him with the underground works as the project was supposed to go into the hands of arun's company. The Remaining happenings of the plot covers the successful path of raghuvaran as a civil engineer by crossing arun's hurdles.
PERFORMANCES(ON-SCREEN):-
Dhanush ( Raghuvaran ) celebrates his silver jubilee film i.e. 25th film with a tailor made role. His in-between reactions during the quarrels, emotions, lenghty dialogue delivery and a scene where he tries to re-create rajini's style of smoking a cigar are the places which made the character a tight bonding with the audience. Amala paul ( Shalini ) is loaded with cuteness in her romantic chemistry with dhanush as it marks her first release after marriage. Amitesh ( Arun subramaniam ) makes a promising debut. Well, he can also try for a hero role as he had the rich smart look. Samuthirakani ( Raghuvaran's father ) gives a little surprise in the film as the scolding dad character is new to him. Saranya ( Raghuvaran's mother ) made her presence well eventhough the tamil viewers are tired on seeing saranya in a mom character. Vivek ( Azhagusundaram ) once again proves his winning collaboration with dhanush in humour portions along with cell murugan. Surabhi ( Anitha ) of Ivan vera mathiri fame was seen in a small situational role. Dhanush's younger brother character and rest of the supporting cast maintained their given track functionally.
TECHNICAL :-
Editing by Rajesh kumar is reasonably good with neat cuts. Stunts by Hari dhinesh is neither over the roof nor ordinary. Art direction by Vijay murugan & Choreography in the songs by Baskar had the essential needs for a medium budgeted film as the script doesn't demand a grandness in both fields. Cinematography by Velraj is quite okay due to the absence of nothing so special look and angle. Music by Anirudh and Dhanush's lyrics are the main reason for the film's reach among youngsters. All songs in the movie are chartbusters irrespective of the visuals. The Background score gives its half of the strength in building up an image for the central character.
SCRIPT & DIRECTION :-
Story by Velraj is made from the three things such as the partiality which normally happens in a middle class family, improper building construction and the current position of jobless engineering students in TN. The plot is good but its not a refreshing subject. Dialogues itself has a separate fan following for the movie and it made the characterization difference. Velraj's Screenplay will never bore the fans at all even for a single minute as the writer inserted every commercial elements in the script thoroughly. Cinematographer Velraj with this film he is making an entry as a director in kollywood. He directed the film with the only goal of giving a super enjoyment to the commercial fans in the theatre and velraj leaves the audience to gather a cult following among the engineering youths atleast in the social media.
