Kick (Hindi) Movie Review by Srinath :

                               
                    The movie opened worldwide on 25th July '14 coinciding with the eid festive season in 5000 screens. Sajid nadiadwala's Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment company produced this flick and UTV motion pictures released it globally.

PLOT :-
         
       The film opens up with Shaina ( Jacqueline fernandez ), a psychatrist and Himanshu ( Randeep hooda ) having a formal meeting together in a train travel for their marriage purpose which happens in poland. Shaina says about her past life to himanshu where she was in love with a guy named Devi lal singh ( Salman khan ) having a strange character of longing for kick even at tough times. But, soon both of them will break-up themselves. Then, Himanshu also expresses his past in india where he was a successful police officer. The only thief who troubled him a lot is Devil. He will be stealing crores and crores of money from big businessmen & politicians. As the devil hides himself inside a mask, himanshu was not aware of his look. Both, shaina and himanshu never knew the thing that devi lal singh is the devil thief. Himanshu arrived to warsaw, the capital of poland only for arresting the devil as he knows that the thief is roaming here for some thing. And, the rest of the plot carries devil's further plays in their life with an important portion which tells us why he is robbing money from the wealthy people.

PERFORMANCES(ON-SCREEN):-
           
                Salman Khan ( Devil/Devi lal singh) with his star charisma working big inside a cinema hall which automatically gives a celebration feel to all inspite of the fact that there is nothing special/new when it comes to his performance except the mask look. Jacqueline fernandez ( Shaina ), the dazzling beauty fits with her character and there are high chances for her to become a busy heroine in bollywood from this movie. Randeep hooda ( Himanshu ) portrayed a handsome look but the energy as a police officer is missing with him. Nawazuddin siddiqui ( Firoz ) is an extra addition to the script who irritates inside the face to face game between the lead characters in the name of a second anti-hero. Nargis fakhri's special appearance made her long legs to dance badly for a sparkless song. Mithun chakraborty ( Devil's father ), Saurabh shukla ( Shaina's father ) and many others landed in giving an average support.

  TECHNICAL :-

             Editing by Rameshwar S. bhagat is Crispy which showed his work of packing a commercial film within the correct run-time. Visual effects by Prime focus and the production designer gave their best to achieve the needed thing. Action by Anal arasu & Stefan richter is quite good. Cinematography by Ayananka bose had the clear visuals with many shades in lighting and also he captured poland cities, an untouched foreign location for any indian cinematographer. Music for the tracks by Himesh reshammiya and meet bros anjjan has nothing to talk much about it as only the vocal sounds a bit. Background score by Julius packiam & Resul pookutty's Sound design are the only fulfillers in terms of audio is concerned.

SCRIPT & DIRECTION :-

              This flick is a remake of the telugu film of the same name which is a big hit as the plot of the central character by Vakkantham vamsi slightly differed from the regular masala entertainers. Dialogues penned by rajat arora goes well with the mass audience. Screenplay by rajat arora, sajid nadiadwala & chetan bhagat is partially adapted from the original. Screenwriting's biggest flaw is reducing the importance of comedy characters & humour values after the first 30 minutes and compensating it by giving an unwanted screen space to a negative character in the second half. It resulted the film to lose its main entertainment quotient which was much needed after the interval block. Producer Sajid nadiadwala's debut directorial showcased salman like a superhero with a grand making thereby meeting the hollywood standards in the direction part but everything was pulled down in the way of narrating a brilliant story.

VERDICT :-

          " Kick doesn't provide you the enough kick but Sallu bhai & the director's style in making will save this Eid film from becoming an indigestible output "
