JILLA(TAMIL) MOVIE REVIEW by Srinath :

The film released on Jan 10 worldwide as a pongal treat in 1200 screens under R.B Choudary's super good films.

PLOT :-

A Mass action family drama which carries all rowdyism in madurai streets by a big gangster shivan & his adopted son shakthi. Shivan for his safety makes shakthi as an asst. commissioner of police while after an incident shakthi realized the wrong path and asked shivan to stop his activities. But, shivan refused to do it and from there the rest rivals started to burn between them.

PERFORMANCES(ON-SCREEN) :-

Vijay(shakthi) with his tight fit shirt/nail like beard fights & dances with full energy. Besides everything his funny laughs and mannerisms emerge as a spoiler. Mohanlal(shivan) easily expresses anything in his face & also maintained a comfort zone with the co-star. Kajal aggarwal(shanthi) blinks with a saree-police suit inbetween the narration. Soori(gopal) rarely makes all smile. Sampath plays a suspense part & Mahat's character gets a value in pre-climax. Scarlett shakes her belly in an item number while jiiva makes his cameo in the opening song. Many other artists including thambi ramaiah were wasted.

TECHNICAL :-

Editing by don max should have some slight depth observation in changing the clips. Rajeevan's sets i.e. the bungalow is much worthier. Vfx in firing scenes give a normal look. Stunts by silva will cater the front viewers. Cinematography by ganesh rajavelu picturized everything decently. Music by D.Imman had one/maximum two tracks with an enjoyable tune & his Background score(theme) helped the action sequences.

DIRECTION :-

Story by neason is somewhat okay where baskaran's dialogues depended on the actors way of delivering it in time. Neason's screenplay looks elastically stretched and most of them are predictable. His direction also disappoints because only a few mass image scenes are good & the film's songs making doesn't impress at all.

VERDICT :-

ENTER THE CINEMA HALL BARELY TO SEE VIJAY & LALETTAN TOGETHER.

RATING :-  2.5/5
