Bang Bang (Hindi) Movie Review by Srinath :

The movie was released worldwide on 2nd October'14 in 5000+ screens along with the tamil & telugu dubbed versions. Fox star studios produced this flick with an whooping budget of 140 crores.

CBFC :  U/A

GENRE :  Action | Romance

PLOT :-

The films opens in london with the escape of an international criminal Omar zafar (Danny Denzongpa) who burns an army officer alive inside the prison. At the same time, the priceless kohinoor diamond goes missing and the whole world talks about it. The diamond was stolen by a charming thief Rajveer (Hrithik Roshan) and for the kohinoor deal, he lands in shimla. Unexpectedly, Rajveer meets Harleen (Katrina kaif), a bank receptionist with some crazy desires to have a lover boy and to travel abroad. They both like each other but harleen's love towards him oscillated as she came to know that he is the culprit in the diamond case from the ISS officer Zorawar (Pavan malhotra). Both, Omar's goons and officers will be rushing to get the kohinoor from rajveer. But, he cleverly escapes to abroad with harleen accompanied unwillingly. And, the remaining part covers their romance & action episodes in the overseas locals.

PERFORMANCES(ON-SCREEN):-

Hrithik Roshan ( Rajveer ) is slowly establishing himself as a star in the global arena by choosing some western style of action scripts. Six pack abs and handsomeness gain him much better strengh to achieve the feat. Katrina Kaif ( Harleen ), the gorgeous queen of bollywood settles with her role of accompanying hrithik not only  for the songs and romantic scenes but also for the whole movie. Her character sketch resembled many things similar to that of ek tha tiger. Danny Denzongpa ( Omar zafar ), the antagonist is average with his portions being limited only for the opening scene in the plot and for the climax. Pavan malhotra ( Zorawar ) was an interesting pick for the officer character. Jimmy shergill as army officer, Javed Jaffrey as omar's right hand and all of them performed in a better way for the film's goodness.

  TECHNICAL :-

Akiv ali's editing is reasonably good but a shorter run-time within 2 hrs would be a perfect one for this type of film. Action sequences by Andy armstrong and Parvesh shakh are spectacular with the flyboard stunt which was used for the first time is a major attraction. Visual effects by fox studios helped the action scenes in a right way. Production design by Dipankar is richly done. Cinematography by Sunil patel is grand with the super visuals from the foreign lands of abu dhabi and prague while india's eye-catching shimla hills takes the film's look to another level. Music for the tracks composed by Vishal-Shekhar comparatively sounds less to that of hrithik's dance steps. Background score by Salim sulaiman is alright.

SCRIPT & DIRECTION :-

This action film is an official remake of Tom cruise's hollywood flick knight and day. So, the plot credits should go to that film's writer and one should understand that the original itself doesn't have a great story line. Dialogues by Abbas tyrewala has the sudden comic liners working throughout. Screenplay by Sujoy ghosh and Suresh nair struggled in the start and also in the forcely stretched romcom portions of hrithik and katrina. But, in the rest of the places the writing races ahead like F1 cars. Siddharth anand's direction is almost nothing when the viewers see the film by keeping the following three things aside *The International style of making, *Hrithik's action image and *Katrina's glam show.

VERDICT :-

" Bang Bang will be a feast only for those who seek hollywoodish actioners with the desi stars "

RATING :-   3/5
